About

I began my career as a Pet Groomer by attending Newbury Jr. College in 1981, where I obtained an Associated Degree in Canine Science, graduating Phi Theta Kappa. Courses completed included Dog Grooming, Cat Grooming, Training, Kennel Management, Genetics, Nutrition & Canine Confirmation.  After graduation in 1983, I started working for a couple of local kennels as a pet groomer. Later that year I started my own business in the basement of my parents home in Plaistow, NH. After getting married in 1984 I moved the business to our home in Kingston NH.  The new shop was out of our new home, in the basement. I have been professionally dog grooming and cat grooming for 33 years!

In 1985 I joined the NDGAA and in 1991 I joined a regional organization NEPGP, over the years I have been on the board and held the position of Treasurer for many years. Being part of these groups is where I learned that there were continuing education programs for groomers. Since this time, I have attended numerous trade shows, seminars and grooming contests. To this day I still attend at least trade show or seminar a year usually two when possible. I have also competed in grooming competitions. in 2000, I tried my hand at competing, and although I did quite well for my first time I found that competing was not for me. By continuing to go to these events I have kept myself current with new products, equipment, shampoos, styles and trends.

On a personal note; I have been married for 32 years and currently am owned by two Siamese cats; Jack (seal point) and Morgan (tortoiseshell bluepoint). My husband and I enjoy camping, motorcycling, kayaking, hiking, and snowmobiling. I am also very involved in the town of Kingston. I have been a member of the fire department since 1987 where currently I am an EMTB. I am currently on the Municipal Budget Committee and have been for 18 years, and I was also on the Planning Board and Zoning Board for 3 years.
